Full marks…

Apparently, some survey or other showed that more than half of CVs contain spelling or grammatical errors. Or both. Some alarming examples can be found in this BBC quiz.

I got them all right[1], and I would hope that those of my incredibly intelligent regular readers[2] who can be bothered to do a bit of clicking would do the same.

At least one question involves the terrible offence of apostrophe abuse!

[1] And I’ve have to have had a severe word with myself  if I hadn’t, of course
[2] Or is that incredibly insane regular readers?[3]
[3] Or both

More bridge repairs

While work goes on to restore the High Level Bridge, it’s been announced that the other rail bridge over the Tyne is to be reinforced. The King Edward VII Bridge is a comparative youngster at only 100 years old, and the work is a lot less extensive than the major restoration needed on the High Level Bridge.

Better to do this work before it becomes urgent….

It only hurts a little bit

Hmmmmmm. Isn’t it amazing the difference a little exercise makes? Well, the weight changes so far fall well within the normal daily variation range, but as they’ve been varying in the same direction[1], I’ll take it as a sign of progress.

I walked to and from work. On the way home it got a bit windy, especially on the Tyne Bridge, but I didn’t let that stop me. It started to rain just as I got home, so I managed not to get wet…

And this evening’s exercise was a repeat of last night’s, with a peak heart rate of 152. My legs are beginning to feel a bit stiff, so I may need to take a break tomorrow, but I’m not actually planning that far ahead.

[1] So to speak
