Newcastle City Library: 11 May

Chomp!

I took another walk along to the City Library demolition site today, and found that one end is almost completely gone, and rapid progress is being made on the remaining end. Lots more pictures to come.

I now have my Photoshop CS3, so I’ll be able to get on with sorting out the backlog soon. Really.

Big Bunny

One for the climbing fans[1], this. What can only be described as an enormous pink bunny on an Italian mountain.

It’s even visible on Google Maps:

At times like this, all I can say is :eek2: :eek2:    :bouncy:

That’s a big one!

NASA has put on show a full-size model of the really rather impressive James Webb Space Telescope, which is due to be launched in 2013.

The main mirror of the JWST will have a diameter of 6.5 metres – which is enormous compared to any previous space instrument. It’s even bigger than the famous 200 inch reflector, which was the biggest telescope in the world for many years.

Seriously. Impressive. Engineering.
