Is something going on that I should know about? Did Gordon Brown commit some hideous faux pas[1] during his recent visit to the US? Has the UK joined Iran, North Korea and, err, wherever else, on the list of countries forbidden to have access to superior US technology like the Java VM[2]? Or has somebody got a dodgy lookup table for the location of internet users?[3] Or are Sun’s servers having a bit of fun to relieve the boredom?

Oddly enough, while the automagic installer gave me the friendly message shown in the screenshot, I had no trouble downloading the normal installer. Of course, that will have been logged, and the office will probably be raided by security forces tomorrow….
