In an unprecedented step, I’m just about to upgrade Losing it[1] to WordPress 2.7 Release Candidate 1.

And yes, I have backups

The good bit is that assuming the site doesn’t melt, all future updates, including the final release of 2.7, now expected on 10 December (that’s next Wednesday), will be done automagically from within the control panel.
