Looking Across the Bay
This is a view of Cardiff Bay I’ve never seen before. We took the road train[1] across the barrage[2] and from there my 5D could take in everything from the St David’s Hotel to the Millennium Centre, the Pierhead Building and Sennedd.[3] I was lucky in that the sun made one of its rare appearances just in time…
[1] A Land Rover[4] dressed up as a steam engine towing a few trailers full of seats for tourists. Good fun.
[2] Closes off Cardiff Bay from the tidal range of the Bristol Channel, creating a freshwater lake
[3] The Welsh Assembly building
[4] Or something similar
One of my Favourite Buildings
I’ve taken a few pictures of this fine building before, but there’s always room for another. The Pierhead Building is a much-loved landmark at Cardiff Bay. Rather like the stunning (and frankly, quite bonkers) St Pancras Station in London, it’s one of those buildings I’d love to take home with me. I don’t think I could fit it in my suitcase though, so I’ll have to make do with a picture.
Weight Report – 14 July 2009
The reports for the next week or so will not be entirely consistent with the normal ones, as all weight measurements are being taken on a different scale. Not necessarily more or less accurate than my own, but given the normal differences in such things, any major changes in weight between yesterday and today can probably be ignored.
Well, that’s my explanation for the three pounds difference, anyway!
