Hmm, up again today, mutter, mutter. Motivation lacking again, probably because the rain drowned it.
After yesterday’s fun with the ticket machine, I got to the station in good time this morning. The first bit of fun was that I was too early for the artificial stupidity of the automatic ticket barrier to let me on to the platform area. The next bit of fun was that I decided to check my work mobile phone for emails while I was waiting for the train. I don’t always do this before I board, but it was just as well I did. I found I’d missed a call, a text message and an email telling me that the meeting I was going to in Leeds had been cancelled. So, I went into work instead, a little earlier than my usual start time. And had a long day. Mutter.
Today’s picture is from my visit to York in April – a peaceful view of the river Ouse

This is worth a good mutter. I had an “off peak” ticket, which isn’t valid for trains before 8:30, or some other arbitrary time, depending on where you’re going. A human would understand that you want to get to the right platform before the train arrives. The barrier just says “sod off, ticket not valid at this time of day”. A human was available and let me through.
Phone was in my bag while I was on the bus. It did vibrate, but not in a way distinguishable from normal emails arriving…
To be greeted by the the expected sarcastic remarks from co-workers not used to seeing me that early, of course
