No change today, which is quite acceptable, thank you.
And what a mixed day it’s been. It started with the sort of thing I never like – a phone call from work at 7:20am. A very keen person was in very early to do some work, and had discovered that some things were not working. Readers with long memories might recall the fun I had a couple of years back with a badly behaved Xen server. Well, this was a variation on that. A Xen server decided that it didn’t want to serve, and so a number of servers were down, including the domain controller that runs such minor things as DNS and DHCP, which in a nutshell, meant that people couldn’t get much done.
After a quick shower and a very brief breakfast, I got into the office by 8:20, and worked with my boss (who is in Leeds) to get things working again. This took much persuasion, mystical incantations, and the like. But in the end, it all came back, and everything worked as it should.
So it was a Good Thing that I had something to look forward to – a Laithwaites wine tasting in Gateshead Old Town Hall. It was a good evening – there were 32 wines to try (I managed 25), and loads of people were there. I particularly enjoyed a white Port, and allowed myself to be persuaded to order some wine, what with there being 10% off and free delivery.
And here’s a picture of a lovely old car.

And if you have no idea what those are, you’re very lucky
 Small tasting portions, obviously
