2012 Round-up

Monday 31 December 2012 22:22

What???? Another year over already? I suppose I’d better do the traditional summary thingy, then.

Weight

Let’s look at the numbers first, shall we:

January 1: 216.2 pounds (15 stone 6.2 pounds, 98.1 kg)
December 31: 222.8 pounds (15 stone 12.8 pounds, 101.1 kg)

That’s a rather annoying rise of 6.6 pounds (3 kg). On the other hand, it is 8.4 pounds (3.8 kg) lower than my highest weight this year, which was 231.2 pounds (16 stone 7.2 pounds, 104.9 kg).

Posting

It’s been a relatively quiet year on the posting front, with the lowest total for quite a while.

2003: 2 posts
2004: 515 posts
2005: 576 posts
2006: 620 posts
2007: 747 posts
2008: 833 posts
2009: 718 posts
2010: 717 posts
2011: 770 posts
2012: 665 posts

Stuff

I’ve taken an alarming number of photographs this year – over 7,000, which is by far the most in any year so far. Here’s a reminder of my favourite of 2012:

And finally…

Happy New Year to anyone and everyone who reads this stuff.

December 2012 Round-up

Monday 31 December 2012 22:02

Another month has ended, so that means it must be time for the post that saves you the bother of reading the rest of my nonsense.

Weight

I was away again at the beginning of the month, so all I have is:

December 3: 220.6 pounds (15 stone 10.6 pounds, 100.1 kg)
December 31 : 222.8 pounds (15 stone 12.8 pounds, 101.1 kg)

That’s a rise of 2.2 pounds (1kg), which isn’t ideal…

Eating

Yeah, well, it’s that time of year…

Exercise

Not as much walking as I’d like to have managed. Must do better, etc

Posting

Including this post, and the usual end of year thingy, it seems December’s total will be 70, the highest of this year.

Stuff

I’ve spent a crazy amount of time tweaking things on this site to make everything play nicely with WordPress 3.5. What fun!

Weight and Stuff Report – 31 December 2012

Monday 31 December 2012 21:51
Weight: 222.8 pounds (15 stone 12.8 pounds, 101.1 kg)
Steps taken: 1,922
Exercise: Not a lot

Ooops, up a pound today, which isn’t too good an end to the month, or indeed the year.

Today’s activity was lunch with my old[1] friend Barry, which is something we often do on the last day of the year. This started with a glass[2] of wine in a bar, then proceeded to some food. Plan A was to go to Las Iguanas, but as they were fully booked, we went for tapas instead. Some very nice food was accompanied by a rather tasty[3] Rioja. Any suggestion that we went somewhere else for another glass[4] of wine will be unconvincingly denied. As will any suggestion that this might have been followed by a glass[5] of champagne.

Today’s picture is another view of one of my favourite pictures of the year:

Losing it’s 2012 statistics

Monday 31 December 2012 9:23

I’ve just received a report from WordPress summarising what the Jetpack plugin has recorded about visits to the site this year. There’s the usual summary of how many visitors, what countries they came from, and which posts got the most views, but I thought my regular readers would be most interested in the bit about who left the most comments, which I’ll include here.

Click the graphic to see the full report, should you be so inclined.

My stalkers

My stalkers

Consider this your thank you note. Especially “Phredd”, who’s clearly put a lot of effort into stalking me this year – even to the extent of visiting the UK.

Resolution

As 2012 gets ready to slink off to wherever old years go when their time is up, many people think about making new year’s resolutions. Even xkcd:

In the usual way, click the image to see the whole thing, which should be an inspiration to us all. Well, maybe it’ll inspire us next year. Or some year. At some point.
