Down a wee bit today, how exciting…

After the usual breakfast and shopping thingy this morning, I took the bus into Gateshead then had a wander down towards the river. I passed the Sage, oh sorry, it seems to be having a bit of a re-branding exercise. Apparently it’s not The Sage Gateshead any more. Perhaps they now come in six packs.

Just *a* Sage Gateshead, then?

At first, I thought maybe somebody had nicked the The[1], but the sign on the other side of the building is the same, and the lettering over the doors now reads “Sage Gateshead”. All a bit silly, as the traces of the removed letters will more than likely linger for a long time.

But that was a minor issue to something I saw a little further on. Somebody’s knocked down the graffiti wall!

Presumably the site is going to be redeveloped after many years of abandonment, but it’s a shame the wall had to go. Some of the work I’ve enjoyed there was lovely.

After that, I went to the Baltic for a repeat viewing of the exhibits I saw last time[2]. I did think about going somewhere else, but it was getting windy in a seriously chilly sort of way, so I decided to call it a day and came home.

[1] No, that wasn’t a musical reference. Though maybe it should be
[2] I don’t think I’ve done that before
