Down again today in another bout of randomness…
I decided to go somewhere different today, so I got the train to Prudhoe – it’s another stop on the same line that leads to Corbridge, Hexham and Carlisle, but is a wee bit closer to home than any of those. It’s been on my mental list of places to go since I spotted an interesting looking bridge there…
Anyway, I got there, had a look at the bridge (photos to follow), then headed uphill (oxygen very nearly needed, as I made the mistake of taking a shortcut that involved some steps and a rather steep path) and visited the castle, which I hadn’t known about until today. I had a good look round there, then prompted by something I’d seen on one of the information boards, went back downhill, over the bridge and looked at something else (details and photos to follow). I thought of having a further wander, but decided to make it a short visit, and got the next train home.
