Last night I finally got round to watching the REM DVD Perfect Square that I bought a few weeks ago. It’s a concert they played in Wiesbaden in July 2003. Not just the usual greatest hits or recent material show, this. OK, there are the obligatory new songs, and the usual suspects like “Everybody Hurts” and “Losing My Religion”, but they also played a number of rarer songs that fans voted for on the REM website. Good show, lovely outdoor setting, Michael Stipe on fine form. What more could you ask for? The full set lasts for about 1 hour 45 minutes, and there’s also a documentary on the disk (which I haven’t seen yet, so I can’t comment about that).
Good DVD – sound and picture both of excellent quality.
Or “Wiesbaden, Germany” as it says on the label, allowing for the geographically challenged
