Safety First

Just back from a training course in Leeds. Stayed at the rather nice Novotel[1], where I was pleased to find this nice safe. It’s been sensibly designed to hold laptops and other such valuable items[2].

Safe Enough

However, I was slightly alarmed by this warning sign inside the door:

Danger

My phone’s camera isn’t all that good at focussing close up, but you should be able to make out that it says

CAUTION

SUFFOCATION DANGER EXISTS

A very sound warning. But personally, I’m inclined to think that if you’ve managed to squeeze into there, lack of oxygen isn’t your only problem…

[1] Nicely equipped modern hotel, close to station, office and training centre
[2] I have seen hotel room safes that wouldn’t hold even the smallest laptop
