Oh dearie me…

Tuesday’s weight was back down a bit to 209.4 pounds (14 stone 13.4 pounds, 95.0kg).

This afternoon, I went to the MetroCentre for the first time in ages. After a bit of wandering around and moderate shopping, I went to see The Da Vinci Code, which lived down to my expectations. While it did have some (apparently unintentional) funny moments, for the most part it was an over-long, and dull experience. I’ll spare you a review, as I’m sure there are more than enough of them around already…

That’s not very good, really

And on a typically soggy Bank Holiday Monday[1], my weight was 210.0 pounds (15 stone, 95.3kg). Waaay too heavy, but I still can’t quite motivate myself to do anything about it.

[1] Funny how it tends to rain on Bank Holidays…

More random changes

Friday’s weight was 208.2 pounds (14 stone 12.2 pounds, 94.4kg). And now it’s the start of a long weekend, and indeed a week off, which will probably involve more relaxation than activity, so don’t expect any changes there…

Holding steady

Today’s weight was unchanged.

On a lighter[1] note, the removal of Westgate House is coming along. It’s being covered up, presumably to stop bits flying all over the place when they start bringing it down. Or maybe it’s just being hidden from view in a long-overdue outbreak of good taste?

[1] Did you see what I did there?

Getting somewhere, maybe

This morning’s weight was unchanged at 209.2 pounds (14 stone 13.2 pounds, 94.9kg). I managed to motivate myself to walk to work this morning – it was a bright, clear morning, but there was a bit of a cold wind blowing, which wasn’t nice at all.

I did start to walk home, but by the time I got to Gateshead, I was feeling tired enough to get the bus the rest of the way home. Still, that’s better than I managed for most of last week.

Oh, what a lovely day…

This morning’s weight was up again to 209.2 pounds (14 stone 13.2 pounds, 94.9kg). Mutter.

I had an early start today, as there were some teeny weeny problems at work. Well, slightly big problems, actually. Mostly a total lack of power in the server room, which is never a good thing. Fortunately, it was an easy fix (a circuit breaker had tripped out when the power returned after a brief failure on Saturday), but these things have to be checked before turning everything back on. It’s funny how quiet the server room is when nothing’s running in there…

And now I’m tired, and I’ll be going to bed soon…

Well, what’s wrong with a little destruction?

A question posed by Franz Ferdinand in The Fallen. Well, in the case of Westgate House, the more destruction the better. This picture, taken with my phone this evening, shows the scaffolding that’s being put up in preparation for the removal of this nasty building.

Westgate House - it begins

Westgate House - it begins

You may think, looking at this picture, that it’s not all that bad, but once I get round to taking some pictures showing its surroundings, and how it spoils what would otherwise be a very nice view, you might begin to understand why I’m so happy to see it go. I aim to take more pictures as the demolition progresses…
