Newcastle central library is going to be replaced by something more suitable for the 21st century, apparently. The current building is a moderately typical late 1960s grey lump, but it’s served the city well. I’ve used it myself from time to time. But now it’s going to be knocked down, and you know we like a bit of demolition at Losing it. I’ll have to take some pictures before the work starts, and as it progresses.
Oh, and if you’re wondering about the lack of Westgate House progress reports, that’s because there’s not a lot to see there. The sheeting is covering up everything, though there’s more daylight showing through. Photos will follow when it gets more interesting.
