Westgate House: November Update

Last Tuesday, I took some more pictures of Westgate House. It had been a while since my last visit, and I was very pleased to see that real progress is being made in removing the hideous eyesore. You can see all the pictures in my original post.

  1. mr machine

well as a machine operative on the westgate house i can say we are now well on our way on destroying a very ugly building.

floor 4 is all but nearly demolished

we have 3 small 2 tonne remote control machines (brokks) we have breakers and muncher attatchments so the floor slab gets crushed into heaps on the floor, ready to be taken away by a bobcat down liftshaft to another bobcat waiting to load wagons with the rubble

the pillars that are holding the floor slab then get pecked with breaker and the same removal proccess is undertaken

yes it is a very long and slow job but at the end of the day westgate house is only inches off the building next door (weatherspoons)
