I walked past Westgate House yesterday on my way back from the station and saw that there had been some developments. The boards that have surrounded the site are almost all gone, the scaffolding is completely gone, and they seem to be piling up loads of soil below the remains of the building. And this sign confirms the date of what a lot of people have been waiting for: the final removal of the damn thing.
There are more pictures in the gallery, including some of the work going on at the back of the building.
Unless something gets in the way, I’ll be there at some time on Sunday to see the machines in action. Expect some pictures of that, and more once the site is clear.
