Department of unlikely returns

Hmmmmm. ‘Allo ‘Allo was a long-running sitcom that managed to walk a very fine line indeed. A farce set in occupied France during World War II, featuring the Gestapo and the Resistance could easily have been in such bad taste that it would have fallen flat. But somehow, it worked. It had all the elements for a classic British comedy: running gags, grotesque characters and more catch phrases than you could shake the proverbial stick at. I’ve been watching old episodes on DVD lately and it’s still remarkably watchable.

And now, about fifteen years after it ended, it’s coming back for a one-off reunion episode. It should be at least moderately entertaining, and could be a lot of fun. We shall see…
