These are two versions of the same picture, with slightly different cropping and tweaking. I like the coloured floodlights on the stone of the upper floors of Northern Goldsmiths, and that’s what I was trying to capture. Now getting a long enough exposure to show off the stone meant that the much brighter light from the shop windows totally burnt out. I can’t make my mind up whether I like that effect, and the motion blurred people, or if it looks better cropped.
