Weight Report – 10 September 2008

Oooh, down again today. Good stuff. I walked to and from work for the second day running, which hasn’t happened in a very long time. The morning walk was a slightly longer one too, as it involved a detour to the sorting office to pick up my mail, and that little photo session, too.

Sadly, it seems that the Losing it[1] scale is really giving up on me. It’s a moderately fancy digital thingy, you see. What’s supposed to happen is that you tap them with your foot to turn them on, then stand on them when the display stops flashing and shows a solid 0.0. Well, after a long period of flakiness, they really seem determined not to come on now, so rather than keep on fiddling, I’ll get a new one. Of course, no two scales are calibrated equally, so the figures from the new one may be differently accurate to those so far, but never mind. We’ll still be able to see any general trends…

Morning Photos – 10 September 2008

After days of grey, miserable weather interspersed with torrential rain, this morning started off with lovely clear skies. And as I was up and about in good time, I had plenty of time on my walk to work to take a detour down Bottle Bank to take some pictures of the bridges and some other things.

It’s the first time I’ve been out with the camera in ages – partly due to the weather, and partly due to all the moving out and storing things putting me in the wrong mood for pleasant wandering. It’s also the first time I’ve been down to the river since the decidedly unlovely floating nightclub (officially the Tuxedo Princess, but better known locally as “The Boat”) was taken away. And what a difference it’s made to the view – I got some pictures today that are much improved by its absence.

More pictures soon – I really need to get around to all those building projects in Newcastle again – I’m sure they’re all coming along nicely…
