I mentioned yesterday that I gave my knees some abuse by climbing to the top of Newcastle City Keep. The light wasn’t up to much, and there were some scaffolding poles from recent restoration work still blocking the view in some directions, but I took some pictures anyway. Once I got them into Lightroom this morning, I decided that with the glowering skies and dimly lit buildings that this would be an ideal opportunity to do some monochrome conversions.

After a bit of tweaking and experimenting, I settled on a sepia tone – this is based on one of the presets that come with Lightroom, but with the sky darkened a bit for added drama.
