WordPress 2.7 Release Candidate 2

Well, rumour had it that today would see the actual release of WordPress 2.7, but once again caution has prevailed[1], and I woke up this morning to find that a second release candidate has been issued instead. The developers think that this is pretty much it, and the final version will be much the same as this one, barring any last-minute bugs and oddities. If, like I was, you’re already running the previous release candidate, you can use the built-in automagic WordPress upgrade feature. This goes off and grabs the latest official release, puts your site in a special “maintenance mode” which stops any database activity, then replaces the old files with the new ones and runs the update script for you. And I’m pleased to say that it worked as advertised for me. This will also happen when the final release arrives, probably in the next few days, and for all future updates. :bouncy:
