Yes, it’s been far too long since I had one of my lunchtime wanders around Newcastle’s construction sites. But today was the day when I finally felt motivated enough to not only take the camera bag to work, but also to get out in the sunshine[1] and see how things are progressing. The new bit of Eldon Square is coming along nicely, and is really looking more like a building than a skeleton now, and the Haymarket Metro Station is filling out nicely too. Pictures of those will follow, but for now, here are a few of Newcastle’s new City Library:

I think catching the reflections on this wall is going to become a very popular Newcastle photographic subject, just like Eldon Square’s older one…
It looks like the two sides were designed by two different people who may never have met…
