As I mentioned yesterday, the long-postponed demolition of the Gateshead Car Park is about to begin. But before that, there was a bit of unfinished business. Last orders have finally been called on the Trafalgar pub. I caught some of the closing stages of the action today on my way to Tesco’s. I got a few (poor) images with my phone, which seemed to struggle more than usual to get a sensible exposure. But here we go:
I missed catching the Trafalgar name being torn down by a few seconds, mutter. But then it was all over apart from the clearing up.
And now we know what’s happening, the ubiquitous Thompsons have their banner in place:
Apparently the work will be done using Nibbler:
But I may have misheard, and there may be some machines involved instead.
 This is the point when anyone reading this who isn’t familiar with Futurama wonders if I’ve lost even more of the plot than usual…
