Down a bit after yesterday’s alarmingly high figure. I was so alarmed that I managed to avoid going to Gregg’s for lunch today. It’s the only way – if I go there, I’ll end up getting a couple of sausage rolls.
Today’s picture is of something even heavier than me. Dunston Staithes is a massive wooden structure, built to load coal onto ships on the Tyne. It was restored quite superbly, but has been badly damaged by fire twice since then. This picture was taken a few years ago – you can just about see the big gap where part of it was destroyed.
