I’m just getting round to watching this set, which has been on my pile of things to watch for a while now. Like the first Revisitations box, this contains improved versions of three previously released classic series Doctor Who stories. These were generally quite early releases, back in the days when special features were basic at best, so going back over them isn’t a bad thing. If you already have the original versions, and you’re less obsessive than I am, you might want to leave this one until the price drops a bit more.
Anyway, this set contains:
- The Seeds of Death – Patrick Troughton as the Doctor, with Frazer Hines as Jamie and Wendy Padbury as Zoë having fun with the Ice Warriors. Original DVD release was in 2003.
- Carnival of Monsters – Jon Pertwee as the Doctor with Katy Manning as Jo Grant having fun with some forbidden technology. And some monsters. Original DVD release 2002.
- Resurrection of the Daleks – Peter Davison as the Doctor, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Mark Strickson as Turlough, not having much fun at all with the Daleks. Original DVD release 2002.
Rather than turn this into a mega-long thingy, I’ll do separate posts for each story. On the usual basis of tuit dependency, of course.
