My local bus company is implementing a smartcard system for season tickets and other such things. This seems like a moderately good idea, as once it’s working, you’ll be able to buy your next ticket online rather than realising just as you’re about to go to work that your ticket expired yesterday, and you don’t have any cash handy. Not that I do that often. Anyway, I signed up to get my smartcard (or Key, as they like to call it), and got this helpful email:

Yes, if I forget my sign-in details, that email will come in handy! I can understand not sending the password in plain text, and I’d be a bit annoyed if they had sent it to me, but not mentioning the email address, in an email sent to that very address seems a wee bit silly…
