Here’s another bit of architectural detail. This ornate bit of woodcarving stands over the entrance to what was once a particularly fine branch of Barclays Bank, on Collingwood Street in Newcastle. It’s now a bar, and retains the original high, and quite impressive ceiling. The woodwork has been given some renovation treatment over the last few days, and is now looking very nice indeed:
