Weight and Stuff Report – 18 March 2012

Quite randomly down a pound today. All most odd…

I didn’t get round to going out anywhere today, but I did get round to doing some moderately energetic work in taking out a load of recycling I hadn’t got round to for a while. Up and down back stairs while carrying moderately heavy stuff definitely counts as exercise…

Another thing I got round to was having a play with the Canon 5D Mark II on the tripod with my macro lens. I got up close and personal with this rather nice coin:

2005 Sovereign - Reverse

2005 Sovereign - Reverse

The white spot on George’s helmet is a reflection, by the way. Wouldn’t want you thinking I had a mouldy coin…

2005 Sovereign - Obverse

2005 Sovereign - Obverse

This is the one gold coin in my collection – the 2005 Sovereign, which came with a new stylised version of the usual St George and the Dragon design. I rather liked it, but apparently it wasn’t very popular, and that was the only year it was used.

For reference, the actual diameter of the coin is 22.05mm, so you’re seeing it a wee bit larger than life here.
