As I mentioned briefly yesterday, Newcastle’s beach by the river project, or Quayside Seaside, to use its actually pretty nifty name, has returned. It’ll be in place until October, which means there should be at least one sunny day while it’s open. That’s not allowing for the rain that’ll saturate the sand, howling winds that’ll strip the palm trees, and plagues of locusts that’ll have whatever’s left, of course. But I’m sure they’ve allowed for those typical elements of the British summer.
When I was there yesterday lunchtime, there didn’t seem to be much interest., but here are some pictures, including a close view of a palm tree thingy.
