I took the train into Cardiff today. First point of call was the National Museum Cardiff, which has had its art gallery section enlarged and enhanced since my last visit a few years ago. Saw some nice things, some odd things, and some errr, oookkaaayyyy things in the Contemporary Art section.
After a good wander round there, I passed the City Hall and Law Courts, and took a stroll in Bute Park, where I took some pictures of the castle from its less often seen side. After that, the rain came back, so I went into the moderately new Cardiff Story exhibition in the old library building, which was nicely interesting.
That left time for a bit of lunch in the Plan Cafe, which I generally like to visit when I’m in Cardiff. I had the inevitable double espresso (excellent) and a brie and cranberry baguette (very tasty, lovely bit of creamy brie). After that, I decided that I didn’t want to wander around in the drizzle any more, and got the next train back to Pencoed.
Here’s a picture of Cardiff Castle:
This is the rear of the castle, seen from Bute Park, with none of the fancy Victorian bonkersness in view.
Seems to have changed its name again
What do you mean that’s not a word?
