No change today, ho hum…
I walked into Gateshead this afternoon to look at the town centre redevelopment. They had an open day on, so for the first time it was possible to walk through part of the site. The bit we could look at is the wide row of shops that runs from directly opposite the entrance to Gateshead Metro and bus station. Good planning that, and it looks pretty good:

Having done that, I decided to keep walking for a bit, passing the old Town Hall clock:

I carried on into Newcastle, and had a general wander, which led me past this interesting thing:

And eventually got the bus home after walking for about three hours. I hadn’t bothered with the Garmin thingy, as I hadn’t actually planned to have a proper walk, but the Fitbit tells me I did over 11,000 steps, and its arbitrary guesstimate of distance was over five miles, which is just about believable.
Talking of the Fitbit, it had a bit of a funny turn, and wouldn’t talk to my computer or my phone. None of the troubleshooting suggestions helped, so I logged a support ticket. But as they don’t work weekends, I decided to try the traditional approach. I opened the battery lid for long enough to make it turn off and on again, which of course did the trick, and without losing today’s data, which was a bonus.
