Lies, damned lies, and our present government

I try not to get too political here, but there are times when the truth-bending tendencies of the vile creatures allegedly running the UK make it very difficult to resist. It seems that, quite apart from attempting to privatise as much of the NHS as they can get away with, the ConDems have been a little more relaxed than usual with what those odd people known as “the electorate” or “the taxpayers” or “the people who pay you bastards”  occasionally refer to as “the truth”:

Ooooh, down by a big bit today. And I even managed some walking, as the step count and exercise details suggest.

My walk home was prompted by a suggested visit to the railway bridge on the approach to the High Level Bridge. This has been kitted out with some fancy colour-changing lights, which are quite interesting:
