Hmm, down a bit to start the year.
I decided to take myself out for a walk today. I started by going into Gateshead to have a look at the town centre redevelopment, which is coming along very nicely now. Pictures will follow at some point. After walking all the way around the site, I dithered for a bit, then walked over the High Level Bridge into Newcastle, where I realised that I’d picked the wrong bridge. If I’d gone for the Swing Bridge, I’d have got a much better angle on this:

But never mind, etc. I then wandered down to the Quayside and back up again, took a short walk through the largely deserted city centre then headed back over the Tyne Bridge and from there to home. Fitbit tells me I walked 5.16 miles, but as it bases that on, err, making it up, I don’t entirely believe it. The Garmin app tells me I walked 6.7 miles, which is quote a lot in a little under two hours, with numerous stops to take pictures. I’d love to show you the Garmin data, but the app seems to not want to tell the website about it. And in attempting to get the app to talk to the website, I seem to have made it forget all about today’s walk. Bother.
Which I remembered to use for the first time in ages
