I had a fun day in Leeds today, leaving early, getting home late, mutter. And it was cold again, mutter, mutter. Leeds had clearly had some snow, but most of it was gone form the footpaths, which was good.
On my recent South Shields trip, I didn’t have time to visit Arbeia, the Roman fort site, but I did get a picture of the reconstructed gate house (more of an imagining than a restoration, and not on the actual location of the real one, if memory serves). I like the slight incongruity of the fake Roman structure just appearing as you round the corner…
