A bit of random reading on a forum suggested that my Fujifilm X-E1 might have an extra trick up its metaphorical sleeve. Unlike the X100S, where the only option for remote operation is a distinctly old-school cable release which you screw into the hole in the middle of the shutter release, the slightly clever X-E1 has a socket for plugging in an electronic device. Obviously, Fuji would love you to use theirs, but the forum hint suggested that the socket was entirely compatible with devices intended for Canon DSLRs. This made me wonder if the Hähnel Giga T Pro I bought last year would talk to my X-E1.
Well, a quick test suggests that it does. So that’s one bit of Canon kit I won’t be getting rid of!
