Weight and Stuff Report – 21 September 2013

Still a weightless report, but just look at the step count. Fitbit reckcons it was over ten miles, and I’m not inclined to argue.

We had a nice walk to the office (London is easy to get around at 8:15am on a Saturday), and got straight on with the job. I needed to decommission an old server, which we don’t want to take to the new office. This involved beating some software into submission before doing the normal things you do with old domain controllers.

As it was clearly going to take a while for the movers to, err, get moving, we[1] took the executive decision to take the servers along the road ourselves, which meant by the time we’d finished, we had the new server cabinet nicely stocked, with just the UPS to connect.

We then had a walk in search of dinner. Our plan was to go to the nice little Mexican place on Charlotte Street that we’ve visited many times. Disaster!!! It’s not there any more!! That was a bit annoying, so we developed Plan B: go to Las Iguanas at the South Bank Centre. So, after a short break at the hotel (another long walk), we took another walk along the embankment. Of course, when we got to Las Iguanas, it was full, with a 45 minute wait for a table. We were too hungry for that, so we went for Plan C and walked back to the hotel where we had a quite acceptable dinner. The nicely spicy Indian Plate was as good a stater as always. Aaron had a chilli, which was apparently nicely spicy, and I had the nicely crisp fish and chips. Then it was time for another early night.

Today’s photo also has nothing to do with all that. This is a bit of sculpture in the vicinity of Northumbria University.

[1] Well, it was mostly Aaron’s idea, but it seemed like a good one
