One of the features of OS X10.9 Mavericks is the new Maps application. Now when Apple introduced Maps to iOS, there was a lot of justified criticism about inaccurate data, so surely they’ll have worked all that out before unleashing the same thing on Macs?
Errr, well. Maybe not. My first impression is that the satellite data is significantly older than Google’s. For instance, Gateshead town centre shows the car park still standing, while other services at least show it cleared and the new centre under construction. But it’s worse than that, even.
See those yellow markers? They’re the shops that used to surround the car park, and which had already been demolished when this image was captured. Ooops.
