Doctor Who – Time Heist

While I’m not planning to go into a lot of plot details, it’s likely that the random mutterings that follow will reveal some things you might prefer not to know if you haven’t seen the episode yet, so in my usual way, I’ll include this warning:

Here be spoilers!

Now here’s a thought. Why would the Doctor, Clara and a couple of interestingly enhanced humans be trying to rob the most secure bank in the universe? You don’t know? Well, neither do they, which makes things a wee bit difficult. Convinced that they must have had a good reason for zapping themselves with memory worms[1] and agreeing to the robbery, they get on with the job. Things have been set up for them by a mysterious person calling himself “the Architect”, so along the way they find some helpful devices…

There’s lots of the usual fun and games, with a scary creature that can detect guilt and turn your brain into soup, some running along corridors[2], and a revelation that, as seems to be a running theme in this series, that all is not as it seems.

There’s also a bit of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimeyness that it’s probably best not to think about too hard otherwise you might find yourself disappearing in a puff of logic. It’s all about a phone call…

The behind the scenes Doctor Who Extra is available, and contains more actual spoilers, so don’t watch it before the episode. Though it’s embedded here for your convenience:

[1] I may have mentioned these before, but I can’t quite recall…
[2] As is traditional
