This is a view of the Black Gate with its new external access thingy attached. The idea is that it will be open to the public from next year, and this was necessary to make it accessible. Some might think it’s a case of unreasonable mucking about with an historical building, but considering that it’s been adapted and altered over a period of centuries, I don’t think it’s a problem…
