Back up a bit today, which was a day off. I had my boiler service booked, and I was originally going to work at home for the morning, but took the executive decision to have a day off instead, which is what I did.
After the boiler was thoroughly checked and a drippy valve replaced, I caught up with a few things then took myself out for lunch. After only moderate dithering, I chose the Handmade Burger Co at the Metrocentre. This is the kind of place where you’re shown to a seat, but have to order and pay at the counter. I ordered a burger of the beef variety with cheese and bacon and a portion of chips. Oh, and I might have had a wee drop of a locally produced beer with that.
And it was all very good – nice juicy (very) meat, good portion of bacon and cheese. The chips were what I’d have to describe as proper bloody chips – not naff identical fries, actual bits of an actual potato. I enjoyed it, and I may well go back at some point…
After that, I came home.
Today’s photo is not even slightly related to that – it’s a bit of a Roman column at the Corbridge Roman site.
And once again, for clarity, that’s my weight I’m talking about
Though possibly not for anyone who misses the footnotes
