Weight and Stuff Report – 9 August 2015

I’m not surprised to see a weight increase today after yesterday’s unusual low, but it’s still a moderately low figure (compared with the not too distant past), so it’s not so bad.

After sleeping on the new bed that arrived on Friday, I realised that my bedside cabinet was now a bit lower than I really wanted it to be, so I decided it was time for a change. I wasn’t particularly fond of it, as its surface area is a bit small for the clock, phone and lamp that live on it, and it got positively crowded once I added a water glass. I did a bit of looking around, and found some quite nice basic units that would have been ideal, apart from being even lower than the old one. I eventually settled on a three-drawer unit. I don’t really need three drawers, but I’m sure I’ll find something to put in them. I collected that from Argos this morning, then went out for a look around some other shops, where I didn’t actually buy anything. Well, apart from some pear cider, that is.

Once I got home, I had something to eat and a sit down before assembling the new bedside unit, which all went together more or less properly on the first attempt. And I’m now taking a break before contemplating the dreaded ironing pile…

Today’s photo is a peaceful scene on the river Foss, the smaller of York’s two rivers.
