Weight and Stuff Report – 20 February 2016

A very small rise today…

After the shopping, I went to the Laing Art Gallery to see the current exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci drawings from the Royal Collection. Entry to this can be as cheap as £2.50, so most people should be able to manage it. There’s the option of making a donation and buying the catalogue, which takes it up to £10 if you’re so inclined.[1] It was the busiest I’ve seen the Laing in quite a while, but it wasn’t too difficult to get to see everything. The notebook pages have been displayed in double-sided frames on plinths, so both sides of the pages can be seen, which is a Good Thing. In addition to the actual drawings, there’s a load if information on the walls, a short film about Leonardo’s drawing materials, and a collection of other drawings from the Laing’s collection. Worth a visit.
