Hmmm, down again today. The random thinginess goes on!
I went to Sunderland today – my target was the International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens. This was suitably impressive, and it’s worth noting that “garden” is a bit of a misleading name for what’s eligible for the competition and what was on show. Worth a visit.
While I was there, I thought I’d have a look at the actual, rather than photographic, vegetation in the Winter Gardens – a large temperature controlled glass house thingy with all manner of things growing in it. I was slightly alarmed to be greeted by this:
Shutter speed: 1/60s
Focal length: 18.5mm

Had I somehow strayed into the local equivalent of Jurassic Park? Was I about to become lunch? Well, no. It seems that this is another fun exhibit – Jurassic Gardens which is on for the next few months, and is also worth a visit. More creatures may appear here later…
 Park, Gardens…. I was close!
