The day started with an appointment with a vampire. Errr, no, sorry, got that a bit wrong. The day started with a medical appointment that involved extracting some blood from my arm. So easy to get those things confused, isn’t it? For reasons of medicalness, this required me to not have any breakfast before the appointment, and worse still, no coffee. And the appointment was a bit later than normal, so it was 10am by the time I escaped. At that point, I had a choice to make. Should I go home and have some breakfast, then get around to the other things I needed to do today, or should I not go home and instead get something to eat nearby. Well, as Frankie & Benny’s is very close to the GP surgery, that was an easy choice.
Once I’d had my breakfast (and an espresso or two), I went into Newcastle to do Exciting Things. I extracted tickets from a friendly machine at the station. I had a haircut. I went to the MetroCentre where I still couldn’t decide about buying something, so I didn’t. I then returned to Newcastle for a visit to the Life Science Centre. My main reason for going was the Body Worlds – Animal Inside Out exhibition which was at least as fascinating as I’d expected. While I was there, I also enjoyed a planetarium show and a bit of fun in the Science Theatre. And then I came home.
