Weight and Stuff Report – 17 August 2016

What’s this? Down again? Well, it might be a slightly anomalous figure due to it being a bit warm again, but it is a new low, so I’ll enjoy it anyway. If we exclude the most definitely anomalous figure of 211.8 pounds (15 stone 1.8 pounds, 96.1 kg) on 2 January[1], it’s the lowest weight of the year so far. Yay, etc. Of course, I’m about to endanger that with some restaurants over the next few days, but never mind, heigh ho, etc.

When the redevelopment of part of Eldon Square into a new restaurant area started, the first thing to go was what I always think of as Newcastle Photographic Cliché #2 (after the Tyne Bridge) – the reflection of Emerson Chambers, nicely broken up by the many panels. Well, it’s back in a new form. I suspect this will only last until the building fills with brightly-lit restaurants, which will change the look completely, but for now, the reflection is back:

It's back!!!

It’s back!!!

    X marks the spot…

I know they put the X’s on the windows to stop workers walking through them as they might have got used to there being no glass there – I can see how that might be an issue at ground level, not so much 20 foot off the ground…
