Up another wee bit today, mutter, mutter.
Having packed up my X-T1 ready for it to be taken away I took my little X70 out with me today. After the usual both of dithering, I decided it would be a good day to revisit Prudhoe, if only to see the recently re-opened Ovingham Bridge, which last time I was there was closed for repairs. These were duly completed, but then the bridge suffered severe storm damage (stuff smashing into its supports, I think), and a load more work had to be done.
So, I got to the station in good time, and took the train. And here’s the bridge:
I was hoping to get down to the river level and get some photos of the bridge from lower down, but the path is currently closed, possibly because they haven’t removed all the scaffolding yet.
After looking at the bridge, I went up the infinitely steep hill to Prudhoe Castle. On the way I spotted something strange. It looks like it might be Art. But I’m not quite sure:
I had a wander around the castle:
and even walked all the way around its outside on the woodland path that surrounds it
and then I went back to the station and got the next train back to Newcastle.
