A sign of something…

OK, we probably shouldn’t be too alarmed that they’re doing inspections of the Tyne Bridge using drones[1], but I think we should be very alarmed by the wording of the sign.

Taken?!?

Taken?!?

Did it fall through a time distortion and is telling us that the inspection has taken place[2]? Or is my first suspicion that somebody who’s not very good at English made the sign and nobody checked it more likely.

Given my positive outlook, sunny disposition and so on[3], I’m sure it’s the former.

[1] Even though this would be highly illegal for members of the public, with the regulations about not getting close to structures, people, or pretty much anything at all really
[2] Though even that wouldn’t be particularly good English
[3] I can hear the regular readers laughing at something…

Weight and Stuff Report – 4 October 2016

Up again? What’s going on here?!? Mutter, mutter…

I had another walk at lunchtime – my plan was to take my nice print of my train photo to get framed. Well, I got to the framing shop at about 1:10 and found it was closed for lunch. So I went for a bit of a walk around town to kill some time and got there just after 1:30. There was someone being served before me, so there was a bit of a wait. I was then given lots of options and advice before I decided on the details. Good service – the lady clearly knew her stuff and pointed out options to set off the photo to its best. The only downside is that it’ll be about three weeks wait!

After work, I took a short walk to the Tyne Bridge and took a few photos with the X-T2 before getting the bus home. Here’s one of a nicely reflecting Cale Cross:
