Weight and Stuff Report – 1 November 2016

I was up far too early for a non-working day, but this did mean I could get out and about nice and early. I started with a stroll around Saltwell Park, which was looking quite lovely in the autumn sunshine, and made even better by being almost empty of people. Here’s a view of the lake:

After that, I headed into Newcastle and waited for a bus. When it eventually arrived, I found out why it was late: the ticket machine had decided not to print, and so the driver was having to handwrite the things, which is a wee bit slower. This also meant that the bus took longer than expected to get to my planned destination of Warkworth, which I passed through on the way back from Alnwick a while ago, and mentally filed as somewhere to visit.  It’s a small place, dominated by a lovely castle, which despite having my English Heritage card with me, I couldn’t visit, as from November to March (or thereabouts) it doesn’t open on weekdays. I should really research these things before making spontaneous visits, I suppose. Still, I got some nice views of  its exterior. The inside will have to wait for another day.
