That’s a big drop today, but it’s a “just got home on a hot day” figure, so is definitely a temporary wossname.
Having done the shopping quite early, I took myself to Saltburn for a visit. This involves getting to Darlington (frequent comfortable trains from Newcastle) then getting an undersized, overcrowded and under ventilated cattle truck via Middlesbrough and Redcar. Once there, I walked down a mind-bogglingly steep hill, wandered around a park, strolled onto the pier, ride the funicular railway then came home on an even more crowded cattle truck (the previous one having been cancelled because the cattle complained, or some such reason).
There seems to have been an outbreak of knitting on the pier, which includes these guys. As I always say, everything is better with penguins, so here they are:
